About Perma-Form, Inc.

Perma-Form has been in the ICF business since 1988 and holds one of the very few U.S. Patents on Insulated Concrete Forms.  Therefore we can offer some unique advantages that contribute to efficient, quick, and low cost wall construction.  Our low price of $6.60 per block, $1.99 per square foot of wall surface, combine with block design advantages and minimum bracing to make Perma-Form competitive in cost with all but the cheapest types of construction.

Perma-Form has never sold a franchise/distributorship, nor has it ever charged for training anyone to build with its products. We have never sold, but now we are willing to give rights to exclusive areas. Yes, Perma-Form is throwing open its doors for applications from experienced, qualified professionals in the construction industry for builder-distributor status.

We will NOT sell our products to the “do it yourself” builder.   If you are not a construction professional, and simply want to build a home with the inherent advantages implicit in ICF construction,  We WILL try to arrange for the erection of the exterior walls by one of our builder-distributors at a guaranteed per square foot of wall cost.  Experience has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that ICF construction should not be undertaken without prior experience.

What Are Perma-Form Blocks?

Perma-Form blocks are large expanded polystyrene blocks that attach to each other with an intricate, matching pattern that is embossed on the top and bottom of each block. A series of vertical rebar is placed in the foundation. These forms are placed over the rebar and as the forms are put up, rebar is placed vertically and horizontally. Then concrete is poured into the cavities in the blocks. A six-inch reinforced concrete wall is created that is 90% concrete and 10% foam.

Perma-Form blocks create a wall that is economical, quick to construct, and offers long term advantages to the consumer in the form of super strength, insulation, high wind resistance and long-term low maintenance.  The ease of construction is enhanced by the light weight of the forms and the speed with which they can be placed for pouring.

Material Cost Calculation

Calculate the total square feet in the wall to be built.  Subtract 10% to approximate the net square feet (NSF).  Each door or window in the wall will require 2" x net 10" pressure treated pine buck to form the rough opening.
  •    NSF divided by 3.34 equals the number of blocks required.

  •    Number of blocks times 3.67 equals the approximate total linear feet of rebar.

  •    NSF divided by 60 equals the total cubic yards of concrete.

  •    Number of corners times height of wall equals number of end cap sets.

  •    Number of blocks times ($6.60 plus amortized freight) equals cost of blocks.

  •    Total linear feet of rebar times the local cost of #5 rebar equals rebar costs.

  •    Total cubic feet of concrete times the local cost of pump mix equals total concrete cost.

  •    Number of end cap sets times $.95 equals cost of end-cap sets.

The Perma-Form Builder-Distributor.

Lack of on-the-job training can produce disastrous results. Consider the effects of thousands of pounds of concrete hardening in an improperly braced, poorly plumbed, structure that must withstand this much hydrostatic pressure and weight. And if it doesn't collapse first, how are you going to straighten it out?

A construction professional that has applied to Perma-Form to become a builder-distributor will receive specialized training in the use of our products. Our experience has proven to us that the application of Perma-Form blocks cannot be taught by videotapes, seminars, instructional manuals, or by home study courses.  No more than the practical knowledge of carpentry or masonry can be gained by these methods. Although practical experience in these trades is somewhat transferable into ICF construction, we demand that our builder-distributor have "hands on" experience with Perma-Form wall construction.

For many years we have refused to SELL distributorships. We still do. However, if you meet certain requirements, we will be pleased to GIVE you an exclusive distributorship for our products. We are taking applications for Builder-Distributors. We are not looking for applicants to “invest”, “pay a cost to join”, or to make any monetary outlay for this program. What we are looking for is excellent references from qualified professionals in the construction industry. We feel that a well-trained professional working with our products will be much more beneficial to our company in the long run than cash participation up front.

You must be an experienced, qualified construction professional with a good reputation, and be willing to undertake specific "hands on" training in order to learn the specifics about constructing with our blocks. On completion of the training program, you will be awarded a specific geographical territory in which you can profit from the use of our products. You will also qualify to purchase from Perma-Form all the items directly related to the construction of a wall at quantity discount prices.
  •       Pre-cut window and door bucks. Or, true 2’ x 10’ x 16’ pressure treated pine lumber.

  •       Our exclusive threaded rod tie-down system.

  •       Bent rebar and loop ties.

  •       All special tools (i.e. re-bar cutter, threaded rod cutter, etc.)

  •       Miscellaneous fasteners.

Are you looking for “The Catch”?

There Is None.

The system works and provides a superior finished product. We need you in order to expand our market.
If you are willing to invest your time and effort,

We will do the rest.

Perma-Form Requirements.

*Required Qualifications To Apply*

  •       Excellent references.

  •       A minimum of six years experience in the construction industry.

  •       The dedication to create and maintain an active territory.

  •       Willingness to become directly involved in the actual construction.

  •       Long-term requirements to maintain builder-distributor status.

  •       Quality construction.

  •        Maintenance of sales quantity minimums. (Minimums apply after the first twelve months, based on your location in terms of area, housing starts, population, and the economic development.)

Perma-Form Provisions.

There is tremendous demand for low-cost housing in almost every area of the United States. Many of these needs are not being met.  Perma-Form provides the answer for a segment of this market.  In addition to exterior wall construction materials, we support our network of builder-distributors by providing:
  •       A series of detailed house plans that directly address low cost housing, allowing the customer a large selection of attractive plans.

  •       Each plan includes exact truss construction specifications so that the local truss manufacturer can make accurate bids on truss manufacture.

  •       Interior framing plans.

  •       Plumbing and electric specifications for accurate bidding and construction.

  •       Pre-cut door and window bucks and doors and windows as a package for each design.

  •       Construction packages for low cost housing.

Perma-Form Added Value

Our program will allow the local builder-distributor to offer low cost shell construction, IE:exterior and interior wall framing, completed roof system, installed doors, installed windows, Stuccoed exterior (so that the house is “dried in” and complete from the outside)and delivery to the customer.  The advantage to the builder-distributor is that he has taken responsibility for the early, less time consuming part of construction, allowing the builder-distributor to be paid, done, and off to another job way before that house can be completed.  This allows the builder-distributor to concentrate on his area of expertise and increase the number of projects that he can undertake.  The “do it yourselfer” or program administrator (for low cost housing programs) now has a completed structure so that they can do many of the jobs that they are capable of doing or completing the contracts with drywall, electrical, plumbing, painting, and floor covering people.  Construction, approached in this manner, should prove competitive with other construction management techniques for entry-level and low-cost housing, while providing real value to the ultimate consumer, such as:

  •       Long-term low maintenance. Perma-Form blocks reduce the long term costs of heating, cooling, painting, and general maintenance found in current low quality housing.

  •       Estimated savings in electrical usage can be considered in the calculation of the monthly payment, increasing customer purchasing power.

  •       Usage of this technique by program administrators can result in high quality, low-cost, attractive communities, that have the additional advantage of being almost invulnerable to hurricane damage.
